Lizeth Medina, 21, is a Chicago-based photographer pursuing a bachelor's degree at Columbia College Chicago. Medina strives to express her Mexican American roots and advocate for her community through mediums such as fine art, analog and documentary photography, and multimedia works. As a first-generation student raised in Chicago, Medina had difficulty connecting with her cultural heritage. Photography has provided her with an avenue to express her identity, addressing issues such as immigration, women's rights and Mexican folkloric dance.
